Back to Leveling!!

Hi,

A few things for this week. One was that they introduced Glyphs. This apply to gathering tools and give some bonuses. I got the free Leather one and applied it to my Mining Pick. That's because of all the Rich Iron Ore vein mining I do. It's really good. For each Rich Iron, get about 2-5 Thin Leather Scraps for free. I don't know how to get other glyphs for my other tools, but I'll probably look into it sometime.

And yes, I'm back to leveling. Greenbrit has been my focus. I got her through the personal story, and when she got to 60, I did that one too. She's been leveling in Sparkly Fen, and just recently completed that zone. She's level 66 now.

The other thing I did this week was get Rangerbrit's Huntsman to 500! I did this in a way I've never leveled before. I actually went from 450-500 by buying everything on the TP. I guess I spent about 40g doing that, but I think it's worth it. I now have the recipe for Zojja's Longbow, and have started crafting a lot of the stuff I need for that Ascended bow. And here's something funny. I got ready to craft a vision crystal by crafting all the stuff required for it. Then I looked in my collection and realized I have TWO of them already :) They were from my choice of 'Ascedend materials' in the monthly log-on chest stuff.

Mesmerbrit got a bit more Map Completion done, and did some World Bosses. She got to 59% complete.

Two New Rangers!!

Hi,

I decided to use some of my gems to buy 2 more character slots this week. I decided to start two more Rangers, to make it 4 in total. And here they are. A Human and a Sylvari. Huntingbrit and Greenbrit.

I boosted them both to level 50 with level 50 boosters I had in the bank. Then, I did their personal stories. I got Huntingbrit though her level 50 story and now she's level 58. Greenbrit only got up to the level 30 story right now.

Why 2 more characters, you ask? Well, two more characters at the Rich Iron Vein is about an extra 50s each day :)

I did find another Rich Iron Vein close to Oldgate Waypoint, but it doesn't seem to be predictable. It's there sometime, but not at other times. It's slightly southwest of the waypoint, in the ruins there.

I also did a bit more Map Completion on Mesmerbrit this week, getting Kessex Hills finished, and getting her to 54% complete. No other leveling except for my new characters. Mesmerbrit did get another piece of Karma gear, but it's slow going getting to another 42K, because personal stories don't give any Karma at all. Mesmerbrit's been doing some World Bosses to keep the Karma ticking over.

I haven't bought any more gems yet. It's still hovering about 110-120g for 400. I guess I'm just going to have to suck it up soon, and buy when it's close to 110.

3rd Map Completion!!

Hi,

Yay, I got Roverbrit to 100% Map Completion earlier in the week. It actually wasn't too bad. I needed some help on some of the Hero Points in the Ruins of Orr, and some of the vistas were pretty tough, but she got it done. She did get more geared up than any other character, getting full Karma Exotic Beserker armor, and a Karma back piece too. Now I'm low on Karma again :( I now have 6 Gift of Explorations, that I have no idea what to do with though:)

After this, I decided it was time for some leveling again. I decided to play Asurabrit, my Elementalist. Well, after playing her a bit a doing a bit more of her personal story, I decided that I hated playing an Elementalist. Uggh. So, I decided to do more Map Completion. This time on Mesmerbrit. First, she tried to gear up a bit doing some World Bosses (getting a couple of upgrades) and she bought one Karma piece. She's now the one I'm doing the daily with, and she's working on all the home cities now, with just a bit of Divinity's Reach left to do.

I did a little bit of crafting this week. Asurabrit needed a level 60 staff, so Mesmerbrit crafted her one.  Also, I realized that Asurabrit had a few Tailoring crafting bits and pieces in her inventory, so I decided to craft a bit and got Tailoring to 277.

The gold continues to roll in with the Rich Iron Ore Vein farming and doing the daily. It's up above 300g now.

Rich Iron Vein Farming!!

Hi,

I've found a Rich Iron Vein that's good for farming on my eight characters. You probably all know about it anyway, but I found it in Diessa Plateau. I've now got 7 of my 8 characters stationed there, and get Roverbrit there every morning. They all mine it and get between 12-16 Iron Ore each. Iron Ore sells instantly for about 1s85c->2s each, so this usually brings in about 2g per day extra, for about 15 minutes of work.

Rich Iron Vein

It's just north west of Oldgate waypoint in Diessa Plateau, as you can see from the mini map in the picture. You need to fight some Flame Legion to get there, but nothing tough at all.

I've just been doing more Map Completion on Roverbrit. She's got to 89% now, and has nearly finished every zone except for the Ruins of Orr area. I've got 1000 Platinum Ore now, so it is being sold now too, bringing in a little more gold.

No more Fractals this week. No crafting this week either. The Gem price is still around 120g for 400 gems, so I'm still waiting for it to come down.

Doing Some Fractals!!

Hi,

I decided to try something different this week, and try out some Fractals. I made sure to get Roverbrit all geared with Karma Beserker armor first. I'm really glad the first couple went well, or i might have given up. The first two were really smooth, and I got some good loot. The second was the same. Then I ran into a couple of failures, dying and not being able to be rezzed, or party wipe. But I persevered and ran quite a few more successful ones.

With my other time, I did Map stuff and the daily stuff on Roverbrit. She has completed a lot more zones, and is now 74% map complete. She's still got a lot left to go though. For the dailies, those mesmeric who give portals for the jumping puzzles are absolutely awesome! I wouldn't be able to do many, if any, of them if they didn't do the portals.

No crafting this week. I'm still looking to get a lot more high level mats before trying to get Rangerbrit's Huntsman to 500.

For gold, I've got 1000 of Green Wood logs and Copper Ore, so they're being sold on the TP now. This helps bring in the gold a bit. It's up to over 242 now. The gem price is still way too high to buy, but it seems to be coming down a bit now.

2nd Map Completion!!

Hi,

Yes. I got Rangerbrit's Map Completion this week. It was much easier on a Ranger than a Warrior. Cursed Shore was last (as it probably will be for all my characters). I really don't know what to do with Gift's of Exploration I'm getting, but I know it has something to do with crafting a Legendary. Well, I'm looking into crafting an Ascended piece before that.

Takling of crafting, I did work on leveling Rangerbrit's Huntsman this week. She even crafting a level 80 Exotic Longbow for Roverbrit, my next character for Map Completion (who got to 55% this week). She got Huntsman to 429, but now needs so much more Elder Wood and Orichalcum Ore now, and the high level crafting stuff for the Inscriptions. This will have to wait, as I'm not going to buy anything off the TP except Globs of Ectoplasm.

Gold went up a little bit this week. In fact, I now have 1000 Iron Ore, so Iron Ore is now getting sold again. As this happens for more and more mats, the gold will come running in again.

As you can see, the Gem price is still very high (118g). I'm not buying at that price. It should come down in April after all the March sales are over. I now have 213g

Expanded Storage!!

Hi,

Yes, I decided to spend some of my gems and buy two more expansions for my collection storage. People had suggested I do this after I posted on the GW2 forums. I looked at what it might take to craft some ascended pieces, and you need soooo many mats it's ridiculous. So, having storage at 1000 per item rather than 500 is a necessity.

With that change, my gold making has dried up al lot. All the crafting mats over 500 that I used to sell are now just getting deposited. So, I only went up about 25g this week. 14g from daily, and then the other from doing some World Bosses and selling gear drops, vendoring greens and blues over 1s in value, and from doing lots of Hearts.

Talking about lots of Hearts, I've been doing map completion on Rangerbrit. She's got to 92% completion. She started off finishing the home cities and then got to work on the low level zones. She's now only got some of Fireheart Rise, Iron Marshes, and Blazeridge Steppes, and then some of Straits of Dev, Malchor's Leap, and Cursed Shore to go. Here she is this morning, doing some Fireheart Rise.

I also worked on crafting a bit this week. I got Rangerbrit's Huntsman to 352. But now I need a lot more mithril and wood, so getting to 400 is going to have to wait. Oh, I looked into leveling Jeweler too, but that requires Globs of Ectoplasm. I started salvaging exotics, but then realized I could just buy them on the TP, and sell the exotics on the TP. As a test, I bought 10 for 18s11c each. I now have 20.
